Family sessions are becoming one of my favorite sessions to capture, especially in my client’s homes. I’ve found in home sessions, especially with young children, to be much more comfortable and lead to more playful and organic imagery. This session was a perfect example on letting go of the ideal and leaning into what is familiar.
The moment they told me they would be sharing their wedding day at The Manor House, I crossed my fingers they would choose me. It’s absolutely in my top 5 favorite wedding venues. It’s such a chic and timeless venue, with the water views and mouth watering catering. The little downtown right below the manor is PERFECT for all the guests who travel in for the weekend. Main downtown is only 15 minutes from the venue. It really is the perfect pnw destination location for a wedding.
Kelsey and Adam planned the most chic and elegant Seattle Courthouse elopement of all time. Everything about their elopement was perfectly details from the most INCREDIBLE Sarah Seven mini dress to her YSL clutch, Kelsey wanted to feel like an absolute queen. And she nailed it.
We started the day off at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel. If you haven’t heard of this hotel, it’s a must to check out. Their recent interior remodel is the most incredible design I’ve ever seen. Decked out in marble, moody velvet and a full 360 degree bar, it screams luxury.
When Neeca and Raymond reached out to me about capturing their Seattle Courthouse elopement, I couldn’t have been more thrilled. I was even more honored when I found out they were traveling to Seattle from Fort Worth, Texas. A TRUE elopement.
They chose the October month for Seattle’s incredible fall colors and we were SO lucky to have the perfect weather. It, of course, rained in the morning but by the time we met up to start our day, it had stopped and the sun came pouring out.
Beautiful family photo session in the heart of Discovery Park, located in Seattle, Washington by Caitlyn Nikula Photography
Professional photos are not just for weddings. A tangible record of moments isn’t just for one specific day of your lives when some of the greatest moments are still to come. Many of my young family clients have made it clear they want to make family photos a yearly priority. I want more families to lean into that. More families to fill their walls with an outrageous amount of photos - whether they are professional taken or not.
