I want to start this blog post off by stating how sorry I am for all the couples out there that are in the midst of postponing their wedding days due to the current pandemic with COVID-19. I know it’s been heart breaking for a lot of people to push their weddings and have to wait longer to celebrate with your friends and family.
Some of my current clients have expressed how sad they are, but how they feel as if their feelings are selfish. Let me be the one to day that it is NOT selfish. Yes, safety and the health of others is a priority - but this does not mean you can’t grieve over the changes in your wedding. It’s okay to be heart broken and express those feelings. This pandemic is hitting everyone is a different way, and we all should give each other a bit of grace during this time.
Due to the shelter at home placement order, it’s allowed me to get a lot of work projects done. One of them is blogging all my 2019 weddings on the site. Reminiscing over Erin and Eric’s beautiful July wedding at the Center for Urban Horticulture really reminded me of all the truly important moments that happen on a wedding day, that are a MUST on being captured. This wedding flowed so organically, and it was the perfect one to share while I remind my couples - you WILL get married. These moments WILL be yours. Whether it was on your original date, or now on a new date a few months from now, or those who’ve even postponed until next year. You will get married. You will celebrate. It will be captured just as you imagined it from the moment you started planning.
It will be amazing, and you’ll look back and remember that through this time you had the support not only from each other, your friends and your family. But also from your vendors, and especially your photographer. We are here for you. We will get through this and serve you with the best intentions.
